Important Kindergarten Information
We are so excited to meet all of our new families!
The following is some basic information about the upcoming school year. As always, feel free to call the office at 330-676-8300 with any questions.
This year we will be having a Kindergarten Kick-off. The kick-off will be on August 12 and 13 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and is mandatory. It will allow our teachers to get to know the children in a fun and creative environment in addition to helping students start adjusting to more structured time in the classroom when school begins. We ask that you not bring any siblings.
Dates to Remember
August 12-13: Kick-off from 9-11:30 (breakfast will be provided)
August 14: Notice of classroom assignments will be sent to the primary email address on file for students. This will occur tentatively between August 14-August 17.
August 17: Supply Night
The building will be open from 5:00-6:00 pm, and teachers will be in their classrooms. You may stop by to see the room, meet the teacher and bring any supplies.
August 19 and 20: Kindergarten Readiness Assessments
You only need to come to Walls during your scheduled time. The assessment will take approximately 40 minutes, and you may wait for your student in our waiting area.

August 21: Kindergarten Orientation
Students with the last name of A-M will meet with the Kindergarten teachers first from 9:00 to 10:30 and students with the last name N-Z will meet with the principal. The groups will then switch places. This should be for parents/guardians only. There will be a program for both students and parents. We ask that you not bring any siblings, if possible.
August 24: First Day of School for Kindergarten!
The school opens at 8:20 for students eating breakfast and at 8:30 for all other students. School begins at 8:40, and students arriving after that time are tardy and must report to the office. The dismissal bell rings at 3:15. The teachers will go over arrival and dismissal during orientation.
If you live in the Kent City School District, and your student will be at least five (5) years old, on or before August 19, 2026, click here to enroll your student.
